I am interested in adapation and maladaptation of human diet with an evolutionary approach. My research projects focus on the effects of dietary shifts in Human, especially the current one characterized by a large increase in refined carbohydrates consumption. The objectives are to explore the underestimated effects of refined carbohydrates consumption on several traits related directly or indirectly to health (i.e. Alzheimer disease, cognition, myopia, attractiveness, behavioural traits implied in decision making). My works aims at increasing knowledge of detrimental effects of refined carbohydrates on health and at identifying refined carbohydrates as potential modifiable factors for preventing future health impairment. Some of these projects are based on data analyses from French national human cohorts (Constances, 3C, Elfe).
