I develop research in evolutionary anthropology, ignoring the traditional barriers between evolutionary biology and the human sciences. In particular, I am interested in local adaptations, for example in dietary changes and their direct and indirect consequences on health, but also in the origin of medicine and the placebo effect, as well as in the evolution of paradoxical traits such as menopause or homosexual orientation.
